Guideline Editor OverviewWith the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, you can create and edit your custom guideline specifications or edit a standard system guideline document to help meet your business or transaction requirements. A guideline is a hierarchically-structured standard specification with structural and logical rules that is sent between trading partners. When you open a guideline, the Guideline Editor presents a tree view of the guideline, that allows you to navigate through the parent/child guideline nodes (graphical representations of a guideline structure). Nodes are individual items in a guideline tree that summarize the details of values or other nodes, and may or may not roll up into other nodes or levels. A node can be a parent and a child at the same time depending on its location within the guideline tree. Adding a node allows you to add critical or missing information to complete the guideline document. The Guideline Editor contains two panes:
The left pane represents guideline nodes differently depending on the standard of the guideline. For example: ![]() Each node of the guideline is color-coded and displayed with a folder icon to represent its function within the guideline. The icons for the EDI guidelines are as follows:
