Create New Guideline

You can create a new guideline document based on one of the many published standards supplied with the Smart Trading Cloud Repository.

Note To create a new guideline, you must enable guideline editing for your organization account. Contact support at support.edifecs.com or, if you are an account administrator, use the request subscription option available when you open a guideline.

To create a new specification guideline document:

  1. In the Smart Trading Cloud Repository, on the left bar, click .
  2. On the Select Guideline to Create Custom Guideline page, in the Standards Database section, expand the required standard, and then select a standard database.
  3. Note By default, not all standard databases are available for your organization account. To make the required database available, contact support at support.edifecs.com or, if you are an account administrator, click to request subscription.

  4. Select a version, and then select a guideline template.
  5. On the toolbar of the Guideline page, click .
  6. In the dialog that appears, in the Name field, enter the guideline name.
  7. Select the Overwrite existing file check box if you want to overwrite a guideline document with the same name that resides in the location where you are going to save a new guideline.
  8. Next to File Location, click to navigate to the destination in the Cloud Repository where the guideline must be saved.
  9. In the dialog that appears, select the location, and then click Ok.
  10. Click Save.

Smart Trading Cloud Repository saves guideline documents in the .ecs format. You can also export the guideline to the .pdf format and use the Guideline Editor to edit your guideline documents.
